Desert Bladenose

Hit Points 2,025/2,500

The damage of Storm Cloud was likely boosted when the target was submerged in water. As soon as it went under, another bolt struck.

It would be boring to just sit and wait for the lightning to kill the mob on its own, but Taroch didn’t want to wade into the water while the skill was active, even with his regen.

The others caught up to him and gazed into the pond. It was easy to see the bladenose now, even with the water as murky as it was.

“Rodrick, how long does that skill last?” Viessa asked.

“A minute. I have to use it again every minute if I want to maintain it, but it costs a lot of Skill Points. I’d burn through ‘em all in about five minutes if not for my gear.”

The fish continued to struggle after every bolt. By the time it tried to attack Taroch again, it was already under half. However, Taroch wasn’t able to raise his shield in time. Its nose struck his shoulder, piercing through his pauldron and into his right shoulder.

Taroch’s whole arm quaked with pain. He couldn’t even raise his hammer properly with such an injury, and as the fish continued to writhe, the ‘teeth’ on its nose continued to shred the muscles in his shoulder and chest.

It wasn’t until Jennifer brought her hammer down upon the mob that it stopped. The impact threw it back into the water, wrenching its blade free of Taroch’s body in the worst way possible.

He staggered back a step and let out a pained roar. Instinctively, he clutched the wound with his free hand, but that just made the pain even worse. How much damage had he even taken? He opened his System window.
